THE BLAZE
Croton Harmon, New York
A Cassidy/Pepin Tradition Year #2

The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze is a Halloween spectacle integrating thousands of hand-carved pumpkins. We took the kids last year and decided a tradition had been born!
John had high hopes of seeing 20 pumpkins, Annie on the other hand thought 30,000.
Turns out it's about 4,000 individually carved pumpkins.

One of our favorite moments of the night was the kids talking to each other about the different pumpkins.
We asked them afterward what was their favorite part of the Blaze and they said "The pumpkins!"

Girl's Trip
North Royalton, Ohio

DP has been working a ton lately.
And when I say a ton I mean he leaves our house at eight-thirty in the morning
and doesn't get home till after midnight most days. Yuck. Sounds like a perfect time for the Pep girls to head to Ohio to visit Grandma and Grandpa.

We went apple picking.

And we got to go for a ride on the Kaufman's boat!

Mike
Karen, Gracie, and Grandma

The boat actually has 3 bedrooms and Gracie tried out all the beds.

Girl's Trip was awesome!
She was a great travel companion...which makes me very excited for what's to come.
Ten years ago, David and I met while touring the country with the show RENT. Now, Gracie is going to get experience the touring life as well. David will be music directing the Bring It On tour and taking the Pep Girls with him. We are very excited to take Gracie to parks, zoos, museums, and restaurants all across the country.  There is no better tour guide than her Dad, believe me! I should know. I fell in love with him while traveling!

Morgante Wedding
Philadelphia, PA

This is my friend from college, Bill, and his wife Chrystal.

Myself, Nora, Michelle, Tina and Jessica

DP and I had an awesome night in Philly.
The wedding was beautiful and I love getting together with my friends from college.
It's always nice to reminisce about the past and catch up on the present.
Thanks to DP's family, Gracie had some awesome babysitters.
We were told that she said, "Mommy and Daddy went to wedding, but they're coming back for me!"
And we always will peanut!

Hurricane Irene

Hurricane Irene
Irvington

Look what came to New York...Hurricane Irene.
We were ready with plenty of snacks, meals, candles, flashlights, books and dvds.
Grace was fully aware of a hurricane heading our way. She woke up on Saturday and asked if the hurricane was here yet? She also said she needed an umbrella and a hat.

We spent Saturday and Sunday hunkered down watching movies, cooking,
playing games, Gracie had her first manicure/pedicure.....

and we all did lots of staring out the window.
Grace wasn't too thrilled with the high winds.
When she saw a large branch fall off a tree,
she started to cry and called out "Daddy!!! Go fix that tree!"
 Melted our hearts.

Fortunately, Irene was kind to us.
We never lost power,  had some great dinners, watched some good movies,
 and had quality family time.
Sadly, I can't say the same for my in-laws: a vacation was cut short, some just got power back today and some are still in the dark! R&B hang in there!!! I can only hope you two are wearing your hats, have an umbrella near by, and aren't crying out your front window!

Happy 2nd Birthday

Gracie's 2nd Birthday!!!!!
David and I are amazed at how quickly Gracie is growing up.
She has changed so much over the course of one year.
A year ago she was our baby and now she's our little girl!

We had a little Minnie Mouse birthday party for her.

And of course Grandpa made Gracie's cake...with a little help.

We are extremely lucky and thankful to have such an amazing daughter!
And we want to thank all of our family and friends who helped make her birthday so much fun!

Memorial Weekend-July 4th Weekend
Irvington

I can't believe it's been 2 months since I last posted!
Sadly, the summer is flying by already...however, we have many little trips planned over the next few weeks that I have been looking forward to for months.

Here are some pics of what we have been up to so far this summer.....

Memorial Weekend Grandpa and Grandma came to visit~

We had a little BBQ in Matthiessen Park...

We went to Central Park and rode the carousel

and stole a bite of Grandpa's strawberry popsicle.

Delicious!

We love when Grandma and Grandpa visit!!!

We recently had a picnic at Croton Gorge Park...

Gracie loved putting her feet in the water and splashing around.

And of course, one of my favorite summer activites...watching my husband hit home runs!!!

And the number one most fun summer activity~ Staying Cool!!!!

Hope you're enjoying the summer as well!!!
