Date Night
Birthday #33

My husband planned a romantic date for the two of us to celebrate my birthday. He surprised me by taking me out for drinks at the Signature Lounge, located on the 96th floor of the John Hancock Building.

When we arrived the view looked like this...

FOG!
However, part way through our first drink, the fog floated away and the view became this...

and this...

We had a great time just the two of us.
Drinks, Appetizers, and the Hunger Games! A perfect birthday outing!

PINKALICIOUS!

Pinkalicious is a story book character that Grace has grown to love. Pinkalicious loves all things pink and as we all know so does Grace.  On our walk to the theatre that Bring It On was playing at, we saw the sign for Pinkalicious The Musical! About ten minutes later I was online scoping out tickets. David and I were so excited to take Gracie to her first ever live production.

Yup! She has on rain boots with a cocktail dress. Of course, she picked this outfit out.

After the show, the actors were in the lobby for autographs and photos. The show was absolutely adorable and Gracie loved it. She was very quite and listened intently to the entire show. She did speak up at one point when Pinkalicious left the stage for the first time.
 "Where did Pinkalicious go???"
Since the production, we have downloaded a few songs from the show and she basically has them on repeat. She has also asked if we could go see it again. Maybe! There just so happens to be a production in NYC!

This is Grace after the show at The Cheesecake Factory!

Right after Grandpa and Grandma left Gracie came down with the worst cold she has ever had. High fevers, runny eyes, runny nose! YUK!

Poor baby!

She started feeling better just in time for our passport photo shoot.
This is what happens when you ask your 2 year old to but her back up against the wall.

In a few weeks we'll be off to Canada with the show and Gracie will be ready with her first passport. I know that over the past few months Grace has grown to love to travel. I'm hoping that someday her passport will be full of fabulous adventures!

Chicago, Il to Irvington, New York
809 miles
2 hour flight

Gracie and I took a week long trip to New York! It was absolutely wonderful. The only disappointing thing was that David could only come for a day. We missed him very much, it wasn't the same without him. However, Grace and I did have a fabulous time hanging out with the Cassidy Clan, GRon & GMa, and spending time in our home. It was very difficult to say goodbye to NY and our family, but slightly easier this time than it was at Christmas. The tour is coming to a close...slowly, but surely. Only a few more months left and we'll be home for good!

Des Moines, Iowa to Chicago, Illinois
 334 miles / 5.5 hours
I-80 & I-88

This car was parked outside the theatre in Des Moines. I'm wondering if our car needs a little paint job? Kidding!
The ride to Chicago was short, sweet, and uneventful!
Some of us read

while some of us took a horrible picture of the Mississippi River.

In no time flat we were in Illinois

and moving into our new apartment in Chicago!

Botanical Center
Des Moines, IA

The last Tuesday of every month, the Des Moines Botanical Center hosts Toddler Time. A story is read with a garden theme and the children are welcome to sing, dance, and play. After Toddler Time there's a scavenger hunt in the gardens and the kids were to find little rubber duckies. It was really nice for Grace to have a chance play with children her own age...her best friends these days are in their twenties.

Happy Springtime!!!
